Three Hints on How to Help your Listings Appeal to Pet Friendly Buyers.

Pet friendly buyers will be on the lookout for features of your listing that will make the home perfect for their pets.   Here are three hints on how to guide your sellers to make their homes more pet friendly.

1.  Make the backyard as safe and appealing as possible - Sellers should try to make time to tend to their backyard.  It should have a neat lawn and be free of any debris.  A reliable fence is also very important to pet friendly buyers.  It doesn't have to be beautiful, just functional and safe!

2.  Have designated areas in your listing for our four legged friends.  Does your seller have an area in the house devoted to their pets?  If they do, be sure to have them highlight this area for pictures and showings.  If not, it is an inexpensive way to show off the property to pet friendly buyers.

3.  Place a one page "Nearby Pet Friendly Vendors" on your kitchen counter.   Pet friendly owners love to be close to stores and areas built with pets in mind. You should provide a list of all the places the sellers go to care for their pets and share it in a nice flyer at the listing.

How to Show a House to Pet Friendly Buyers

Even though you know that promoting a listing to buyers who own pets is important, most agents do not make an effort to highlight their listings as pet friendly.  With this in mind, it is your job to show your pet friendly buyers how the home can be an awesome place for their pets.   Here are three statements you can make while showing a home to pet lovers.

Here is a space for your pets.  Every buyer will need to see that there will be a place in their new home for their pets.  You should make a point of showing them these areas and making suggestions on how to make the area more like home for the animal friends.

This yard is perfect for your pets.   Although not all pets need a year, there are plenty of dog lovers out there so be sure to show them the backyard.  You need to tak the buyer on a guided tour of the back yard and work to show them what they can do for their dogs in each part.

Even though the sellers didn't make the house pet friendly. You can show your buyers how you would do it for your own pets in the home. .  During the entire showing, you should be sure to speak up on areas of the home that would be perfect for your buyer's pets.
